Engage your workforce

At www.witsteambuilding.com, we want to help motivate and enhance your workforce.

A 2013 Gallup study reported seven of every ten workers are not fully engaged with their job. Actively engaged workers account for three of ten workers. The committed employee moves their organization forward and facilitates innovation. Approximately five of those seven remaining workers are simply not engaged while the other two are actively disengaged. The unengaged, ‘checked out’ worker runs through the motions of their position. The actively disengaged employees are emotionally removed from their work and may be acting against or undermining the will of the company. These workers cost employers in the United States between $450 Billion to $550 Billion in lost productivity every year.

Active, passionate employees profoundly impact their company. The same Gallup study highlights how these employees influence their company’s return on investment:

“(C)ompanies with 9.3 engaged employees for every actively disengaged employee in 2010-2011 experienced 147% higher earnings per share (EPS) on average in 2011-2012 compared with their competition. In contrast, companies with a lower average of 2.6 engaged employees for every actively disengaged employee experienced 2% lower EPS compared with their competition during that same time period.”

Moreover, a Kenexa Research Institute study from 2008 directly compares the income of 64 organizations based on engagement. Organizations in the top quartile of employee engagement reported a net income of five billion dollars. Organizations in the bottom quartile reported a net income of two and a half billion dollars.

Employee engagement is an emerging metric in the business world. Data shows the direct, positive correlation between the number of actively engaged employees and return on investment. Motivate your workforce through team building, widen the channels of communication inside your organization.

The MIT Human Dynamics Laboratory advised a bank’s call center to schedule team breaks instead of individual, staggered breaks. This extra time allowed team members to socialize and communicate openly. The bank recognized the rise in efficiency, scheduled all of its teams to break at the same time, and witnessed an increase in productivity of around $15 million dollars.

Increasing engagement and communication influences your company’s productivity. WITS Team Building empowers your employees to communicate and engage effectively as an organization.
